This revolving digital Pilgrim Badge celebrates the intrepid pilgrim Margery Kempe, drawing on my sculpture ‘A Woman in Motion’.
On the face, she is depicted moving towards the Cross on the Altar of the Archbishop's Chapel in Lambeth Palace where the sculpture was unveiled in 2025 as part of the Lambeth Palace Art Collection. The reverse carries words in celebration of Christian pilgrimage. The image gently revolves, allowing the viewer to move between the face and the reverse.
Ten per cent of the proceeds will be donated annually on 9th November, Margery Kempe Day in the Anglican and Episcopal Church Calendars, to charities which support Pilgrimage.
After purchase, you will have access to a digital download of the revolving Pilgrim Badge. The file may be downloaded multiple times for use across your devices while the download link remains active for 24 hours after first use.
This digital artwork is for personal, contemplative use. Please do not repost or distribute the full animation, as I’m keen to help raise funds for pilgrimage charities. The downloaded animation is intended for personal viewing as art to live with and (depending on your device) may be enjoyed as a looping display on screen, including adaptation for personal use such as a screensaver or continuous playback.
This work forms part of my ongoing exploration of Medieval women, pilgrimage, movement and devotion.
